postheadericon My poor baby

Chesty has bladder stones and will have to have them removed.... we have an appointment at the University tomorrow to see if he's a candidate for lithotripsy. If not, they'll remove them surgically and either way he will have to be anesthetized. Of course, my preference is for him NOT to have an incision since it's difficult to keep him from licking or scratching.

I'm heading to Mankato -- 2 hours south of the city to give a lecture tonight on my HeartStrings Project. Wish me luck.

postheadericon newest trip to the OBGYN

Well Lindsey and myself just went to the OB/GYN for the second time yesterday and the baby is growing well and starting to look more human and less like a peanut. We did all of blood tests and will find out the result's on the 18 and also we will do the test for down's syndrome. I am going to miss everyone over Thanksgiving this year. I hope everyone is going to be safe and have a good time.

postheadericon Chesty's got a new hoodie

I met with Habitat for Humanity today and was able to donate a couple quilts that I'd finished through my HeartStrings group. It was nice as they were very appreciative and eager to pass them along to two of the families that will get new homes. I hope to have a couple more finished and ready for them when we make our annual Christmas donation.

My group was also featured in a book along with 24 other organizations who make and donate quilts to charitable organizations. It was neat to see the book in print and I give another talk next week to a local group of quilters (2 hours south of Minneapolis) -- probably 60 in this group.

So that's what's going on with me -- what's up with everyone else?

I shared the news by email that Adam and his girlfriend Lindsey are expecting a baby due May 23 but I thought I share a couple photos. This one of Adam and Lindsey was taken this summer at Big Canoe when we met Lindsey.

And this one a couple weeks ago at her Dr's appt.

postheadericon Happy Mother's Day

Maureen was the one taking photos so there are none of her but we had a nice little cookout at Kevin's house today. Just 8 of us which is an unusually small gathering for us but really nice.

postheadericon New dates for Family Reunion

Ann, Kevin, Maureen, and I were talking a couple weeks ago at dinner about the Family Reunion -- with so much going on this summer we decided to look at dates in the fall.

What we're looking at now is the Saturday before Thanksgiving -- November 21st.

Let me know if you have any feedback or questions.

postheadericon Pat's house

Pat sent me a photo today of the progress on the house. Aren't those stairways to the front door dramatic?

postheadericon Frozen Lakes

We've been enjoying our visit from Chris and Adam and decided to drive over to one of the nearby lakes today.

It was rather cool to be able to walk on water...

...but the cracks made me a little nervous even though there were lots of people walking and skiing on the lake. I stayed close to the shore.
